Choose how your entrance should work
Start with who and what needs to pass through. A pedestrian entrance, driveway and rural access each have different requirements. Think about the opening width, the available space, the direction of travel and how often the gate will be used. These practical details are as important as its appearance.
Sliding gates or an opening gate?
A sliding gate needs clear space beside the opening for the gate to travel. An opening gate needs suitable clearance through its movement. Site levels and nearby fencing can affect both options. Tell us what space is available and we can discuss the right approach; a photo showing the whole entrance is particularly helpful.
Match the gate to the fence
The board layout and finish can connect the entrance to the rest of your fencing. A custom gate can be considered alongside a new boundary fence or as a project within an existing fence line.
